As AI generates an ever-growing amount of content and information, the challenge is no longer just finding information, but deciding what deserves our trust.
Intuition aims to address this challenge by building a network where people’s recommendations and judgments are recorded onchain and connected to economic incentives.
In this Exilist AMA, we spoke with Billy, the founder of Intuition, about the project’s new flagship app, how InfoFi works, trust and reputation in the AI agent ecosystem, and the role of the $TRUST token.
Q1. To start, could you briefly introduce yourself and explain what Intuition is building in one sentence for someone hearing about the project for the first time?
Thank you for having me. I’m Billy, the founder of Intuition. I’ve worked in the Ethereum space since 2014, helped start the blockchain practice at EY and spent years at ConsenSys, the team behind MetaMask.
In one sentence: Intuition lets you discover things you believe in, back them with TRUST, and potentially earn from your judgment while helping others discover what’s good.
Say you have a favorite artist, find an incredible song, or read a book you think more people should know about. On Intuition, you can put your TRUST behind it. TRUST is our token, so that recommendation becomes an economic position.
That’s what we mean by information finance: connecting information and judgment to financial incentives. People have a reason to find and back valuable things, and their participation creates useful data for other people and AI.
Q2. Intuition recently introduced its flagship app in invite-only beta. What can users actually do with the app, and how is it different from traditional review or recommendation platforms?
The app brings discovery, curation, and economic participation into one experience.
You can find music, books, movies, podcasts, and other things you care about. You can organize your recommendations into lists we call Stacks, and follow people whose taste you trust through Circles.
But the key action is putting your TRUST behind something.
Imagine you discover an artist before everyone else, or finish a book that you think deserves more attention. You can recommend it and back that recommendation with TRUST. If others discover it and back it too, your early judgment can earn you money.
That gives people a reason to share their best discoveries. Their positions also create a signal other people can use: who backed this, when did they back it, and what else have they found?
The economics fuel the data, and the data improves discovery. That connection is central to the product.
Q3. AI is producing more and more content, while algorithms increasingly decide what information we see. Why does Intuition believe human recommendations and relationships built on trust will become even more important?
As AI makes content easier to produce, finding information becomes less of a challenge than deciding which information deserves your attention.
We think that makes human judgment—and the incentives behind it—more valuable.
A recommendation tells you someone liked something. Putting TRUST behind it tells you they were willing to take an economic position on that judgment. You can see who they are, when they backed it, and their history of other recommendations.
And there’s an incentive to contribute. If you consistently discover valuable things before other people do, you can potentially earn from that ability.
That is how we want to encourage useful human curation at scale. People contribute their taste and knowledge, the economics reward participation, and the resulting data helps people and AI find better information.
Economic backing is one piece of the signal. It becomes more useful when you can understand the person and track record behind it.
Q4. How does Intuition recognize someone who discovered something valuable early, rather than someone who simply followed an already popular trend? Can those early judgments help build a user’s reputation over time?
The important questions are: what did you back, when did you back it, and what happened afterward?
Every K-pop fan knows someone who spotted a group before it became famous. On Intuition, that person can put TRUST behind their conviction, with an onchain record showing when they did it.
At the protocol level, depositing TRUST gives you shares in the thing or claim you’re backing. Bonding curves govern how deposits and redemptions work, connecting your position to participation in that market. (Intuition contract documentation)
That creates the possibility of earning from an early discovery as others recognize its value and participate. The outcome depends on the market and its mechanics; being early alone does not guarantee a profit.
Over time, your history makes your judgment easier to assess. Did you repeatedly find things that others later valued? Did you back them before they were already popular?
We want people with good taste and useful knowledge to build both a reputation and an economic stake in their discoveries.
Q5. Just because something is popular doesn’t necessarily mean it’s trustworthy. How does Intuition distinguish popularity from genuine trust? Does it consider who supports something, their past track record, or even opposing opinions?
You are right. Popularity alone is not trust.
Korea saw this in 2020. Many of the country’s biggest YouTubers were found to have taken money for reviews without telling their viewers. It showed how easy it is to buy popular reviews, and how hard it is to buy a track record.
You also need to know who backed it, when they did so, what their history looks like, and who disagrees.
If I’m looking for music, someone who has repeatedly introduced me to great artists may matter more to me than a much larger position from someone whose taste I don’t know. Circles let those relationships shape discovery.
Economic participation adds another useful dimension: people can put TRUST behind claims they support, and opposing positions make disagreement visible too.
But money cannot settle every question of quality or truth. The value comes from combining the economic signal with context, relationships, and a visible history.
The economics encourage people to contribute their judgment. The network helps others interpret that judgment.
Q6. Let’s move on to AI agents. As AI agents begin searching for information, making transactions, and working with other agents, they’ll also need to decide who they can trust. How is Intuition addressing this challenge, and what does it add to the ERC-8004 standard?
Every AI agent will need a credit score before anyone lets it spend money.
ERC-8004 is the Ethereum standard for AI agents. It was written by people from MetaMask, the Ethereum Foundation, Google and Coinbase. It gives each agent an ID and a standard way to leave feedback. Intuition adds the reputation layer. More than 30,000 agents are already on the graph, each with at least five pieces of trust data. Before an agent acts, it can check who stands behind another agent and who disagrees.
The second part is data for personal AI agents. Our flagship app records taste across categories. We know which movies certain book readers enjoy, and which TV shows certain podcast listeners enjoy. Nobody else has these connections across music, movies, shows, books and podcasts.
The app is invite only, so you must be trusted to join and create data. But AI agents anywhere can read it. That gives agents something rare: high-signal data that trusted people created. We believe agents will want this data, and that demand for it will grow fast.
Q7. Let’s talk about the $TRUST token. As more people start using Intuition, will that growth also lead to greater demand for TRUST? What role does the token play within the network today?
TRUST is what lets you put an economic position behind your judgment.
At the network level, it pays for transactions. At the protocol level, you deposit TRUST to back things and claims, receiving shares in those positions. It also supports staking and governance. (Intuition contract documentation)
In the app, the experience should be simple: “I found something valuable, and I want to put my TRUST behind it.”
You might back a favorite song, an overlooked book, or an artist you believe more people should discover. That action connects your conviction to the information other people see.
This gives TRUST a role within the product itself. As more people create information and take positions on it, those activities use TRUST.
Our focus is making that participation useful and easy. Sustained use needs to come from people wanting to discover, contribute, and back valuable information.
Q8. Looking ahead to the next 12 months, what’s the most important thing Intuition wants to achieve? What would convince the team that people genuinely need what you’re building?
The most important thing we want to prove is that people repeatedly find value in discovering something, putting TRUST behind it, and helping others find it.
Imagine someone joins because a friend recommended a great book. They discover an artist through another person’s Stack, put TRUST behind a song they love, and later contribute discoveries of their own. We want that to become a habit.
So we care about whether people return, contribute recommendations, take positions, and bring in friends whose judgment they value.
Q9. Finally, is there anything you’d like to share with the Korean community supporting Intuition? And how would you like to connect with Korean users moving forward?
Thank you to the Korean community for supporting Intuition.
Korean fans already help shape global culture through music, dramas, books, and webtoons. Many of you recognize what’s special long before it reaches a worldwide audience.
We want Intuition to give that judgment a visible record and an economic dimension. You can put TRUST behind the artists, songs, and stories you believe in, help others discover them, and potentially earn as more people recognize their value.
We’d also love your input on the experience: would a Korean-language app help you participate, and how would you like to connect Korean recommendations with discoveries from around the world?
Bring the things you believe deserve more attention. Put your TRUST behind them, and help other people see what you see.
Because you, the Korean people, are the only ones who can give the world a proper glimpse into your culture!
